Simon Kempston

SIMON KEMPSTON is a Scottish musician known for his acoustic fingerstyle guitar and poetic song writing. He has released eighteen albums and one EP, with his work often drawing inspiration from classical, Celtic and blues genres. Kempston’s music is characterized by his complex finger picking style and compelling tenor vocals, making him a standout artist in the folk and jazz scenes. His recent album, ‘A Poet or a Painter’, released this summer, showcases his talent for song writing and is considered his most ambitious and accessible work yet. Kempston’s performances are known for their intensity and passion, often featuring Scottish themes that resonate with a wider audience. He has performed in 38 countries and continues to tour. In August he is bringing his unique sound to a Knutsford audience.
